The partners of Specsavers, Newry wanted to mark their tenth birthday with a weekend of celebrations.
Having discussed the brief and budget, MAC PR created a series of events which included entertainment in the store from special guest Brian Kennedy; a showstopper cake; branded cupcakes for a store birthday party; a social media campaign; competitions; fashion blogger engagement; flash fashion shows in store, and in-store giveaways for customers.
Media planning was also part of this campaign. Local press ads were coordinated, as well as radio ad planning, scriptwriting and voiceover audit – all of which pushed the birthday message.
The event achieved significant online and offline coverage with all local titles carrying the Brian Kennedy visit. Social media reach of the competition and blogger engagement was 40k + and press coverage obtained of approx £25k.
