Double Achievement for Appletree Dental

Appletree Dental Care Newry is enjoying double celebrations this week as they achieve the Best Kept Health Care Facility in the Southern Board for the third year in addition to marking their fifth year in business.

The awards from the NI Amenity Council recognise schools, towns, villages and healthcare facilities across the region who best demonstrate ‘Best Kept' status through their colourful, clean, litter free environments.

Apple Tree practice owner Katrina McKevitt says: "I'm delighted to have won this again because I believe it reflects Apple-tree's on-going commitment to quality which is a core value of the practice both in terms of the service our clients receive as well as the quality of the premises and the whole experience of attending our practice."

Since opening the doors in Sept 2006 Appletree has steadily expanded, last year investing in the addition of a new wing to their premises in the Old Gasworks, Kilmorey Street. The practice now employs three dentists, a hygienist and a team of 11 staff who make it their priority to provide a comfortable, pleasant experience for all the Appletree clients who attend the practice for routine or cosmetic dentistry.

Appletree provides all aspects of dentistry and is also a centre of excellence for dental implants. Dr Conor Mc Enhill, the practice oral surgeon, has noted a significant growth in demand for dental implants since the practice opened.

"In many cases it's a cosmetic reason to opt for implants and in recent years we've seen more clients willing to invest in cosmetic dentistry to improve their looks. For others there are very practical reasons - for example I recently fitted two implants in a client's bottom jaw to stabilise a lower denture. For years she had found it difficult to eat because of the loose denture. Implants have completely changed her quality of life and now her only complaint was that she is gaining weight!"
