The Enterprising Women’s Network has announced details of their annual business women’s luncheon to celebrate International Women’s Day this March, 2010 with guest speaker Noirin Hegarty, Editor of the Sunday Tribune.

PRESS RELEASE Tuesday, 02 February 2010Celebrate International Women’s Day with Enterprising WomenThe Enterprising Women’s Network (EWN) for Armagh and Down, has announced details of their annual business women’s luncheon to celebrate International Women’s Day this March, 2010. Guest speaker for this year’s event in the Carrickdale Hotel, Ravensdale, on March 4th has been confirmed as Noirin Hegarty, Editor of the Sunday Tribune. Noirin is a graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology and has been involved in the coverage of every major national and international story in the Irish print media over the last twenty years.  She became the first woman to edit a national Sunday newspaper in Ireland when she was appointed as editor of the Sunday Tribune in February 2005. EWN Chairwoman Catherine McGinn says: “As a journalist working in national and international newspapers for over 20 years, Noirin will certainly weave an engaging story of her route to the top. Last year, under her leadership, the Sunday Tribune broke significant stories including the Real IRA claim of responsibility for the Massereene murders, the John O’Donoghue ministerial expenses scandal and in June 2009 the Sunday Tribune won a legal case taken by the PSNI to force northern editor Suzanne Breen to disclose her sources. Noirin is sure to have some interesting stories to recount about the circumstances around those ground breaking stories which will make for an exciting event.” Each year the event attracts hundreds of women from both sides of the border to network and celebrate the achievements of women in business. This year the business lunch is being supported by EWN network members Younique and Mary Mackle & Co, Chartered Accountants. Louth County Enterprise Board is also sponsoring this event as part of their Enterprise Week. Network coordinator Margaret Andrews says: “This lunch event is an enjoyable social event which will create an informal environment so women can network at ease and build contacts.  Our colleagues in Network Louth will link with us in this event offering female entrepreneurs the opportunity to network on a cross border level.”Cost is £30/€33 for network members, £40/€44 for guests. Corporate tables available from £325/€360. Annual membership fee for EWN is £40.
