<< Back to news index Women's Network Host Finance Seminar for Women in Business (07 January 2010)The Enterprising Women's Network has hosted a special seminar for women in business entitled ‘Managing the Credit Crunch' with guest speaker Liam Quinn, Newry and Mourne Enterprise Agency Financial Controller. The Enterprising Women's Network (Armagh & Down) has hosted a special seminar for women in business entitled ‘Managing the Credit Crunch' - some practical advice' in Banbridge Enterprise Centre featuring Newry and Mourne Enterprise Agency Financial Controller Liam Quinn (Thurs 19th November). The event tackled some of the current economic difficulties and challenges faced by female business owners. Liam is a Chartered Accountant with over 14 years experience and has previously worked in the Corporate Finance Division of Pricewaterhousecoopers in Belfast, before joining the Newry & Mourne Co-Operative Limited as Financial Controller in 1998. He's also Vice President of the Newry Credit Union and operated a successful retail business for nine years, selling it as a going concern in 2007. Mr Quinn commented: "The event was specifically tailored to offer practical advice and suggest steps that all businesses can implement immediately to make a difference in how they deal with cashflow, credit issues and bad debts among other issues." Network Coordinator Margaret Andrews says: "We're delighted that Liam's gave his time and our members were able to benefit from his expert knowledge at this interactive training event. Liam was able to connect with our small business members and offer valuable guidance as he has been involved in delivering support to new and growing business within the Newry area for over ten years. His advice will no doubt help our members to tackle financial issues with confidence."
