PRESS RELEASE Wednesday, 06 January 2010 NEWRY MEDICAL FIRM SAVES 000s USING CRM SOFTWARE Major medical supplier Medicon Ireland Ltd, based in Newry has embraced a new IT system to streamline their admin operations resulting in an increase in productivity for the company and saving thousands of pounds in wasted admin time. The firm, established in 2007 by managing director Iggy McGowan, is one of Ireland's fastest growing companies within the Human and Veterinary health sectors and they specialise in laboratory diagnostic equipment and point of care systems such as Blood Glucose Meters. With a head office in Carnbane and regional office in Chapelizod, Dublin, managing the ever growing firm was becoming an increasing challenge. Administration Manager Anne Marie Gordon explains: "Because our firm has grown so rapidly, both in terms of employees and clients, our existing computer system was struggling to cope and they didn't offer the flexibility we needed. We approached MCS Computer Systems, Newry as they are an award winning Sage supplier. They suggested Sage CRM could provide a solution, with some tailored programming ‘extras', and offer enhanced customer relationship management capabilities which would assist with tracking client account activities. "The software was installed in Nov/Dec and is already making the company operate much more efficiently and productivity has increased," explains Anne Marie. Software expert, Paul Lyness of MCS, Newry says: "Medicon was a great example of how medium to large firms can streamline operations and admin and make a major impact on efficiency by reducing costs and creating better use of time by using this programme like this properly." Medicon Ireland Ltd has over 500 clients across Ireland serviced by a network of 9 sales and service reps. Anne Marie says: "From an admin point of view the new system offers huge benefits by removing the need for paper form-filling. Our Managing Director may be away for long periods working away from the office, but the Sage 200 and CRM system enables him to tap into accurate and up to date data on sales and service logs and work performance data at the click of a mouse. This offers him total knowledge and therefore full control of his business," MCS provide full training and support and the company have rolled out the new system to their service teams and all staff using the system in early 2010.
