<< Back to news index Friends of Armagh GAA October Winners Announced (06 October 2008)Members of Armagh County Board drew the October winners of the Friends of Armagh Lottery as Armagh GAA had the official launch event of the redeveloped Dalton Road Athletic Grounds last week. ‘FRIENDS' OCTOBER WINNERS ANNOUNCED Members of Armagh County Board drew the October winners of the Friends of Armagh Lottery as Armagh GAA had the official launch event of the redeveloped Dalton Road Athletic Grounds on Wednesday 1st October as the Armagh Select took on and won the Ulster Railway Cup team? (2,11 - 16pts). The October ?500 winner was Mattie Lennon, sold by Thomas Hughes. A total of ?500 in prizes money was won by Stuart McTaggart, Colm McGreavy, Paul Thompson and Vincent Boyle and James Whan whose names were also drawn as part of the monthly lottery scheme. Each month the Friends of Armagh lottery scheme gives away ?1000 to members. Players, coaches and County Board officials visit shops, bars and restaurants across the county every month for a public draw to raise the profile of the fundraising initiative. By the end of the year ?12,000 in prize money will by given away to Friends of Armagh members. Income from the Friends scheme goes directly to supporting minor and senior county football and hurling teams, development squads and underage development.
